The top can also be manufactured to your specifications for a modest up charge. The standard top is generally in stock and available for immediate shipment. Our standard island top comes with square edges and features our proprietary Durakryl 102 finish. Below you will find a listing of our standard sizes. In addition to making the standard 1 1/2' Solid Northern Hard Maple Kitchen Island Top we also make a 3" inch version of the top. This top is solid though and though. This substantial top gives an impressive appearance in any kitchen. Listed below are the standard sizes. We also make this top in custom sizes to your specifications.

3" Island Top
Michigan Maple Block Co. and Bally Block Co.also manufacture 3" Island tops out of Lyptus, Red Oak, Ash, Black Cherry, Walnut and Teak. Shown to the left is a Lyptus top. As you can see the natural color and color variation within the Lyptus itself creates a rich and dramatic look. These tops are not as of yet manufactured in standard sizes but we are happy to produce any custom size you like. The top pictured here is 48" x 24" x 3" with a 3/8" top edge and corners. It is finished in Durakryl 102 our standard finish. We do not recommend oil for a Lyptus top at this time.

Custom 3" Ogee
Our 3" Ogee edged Island Top is a magnificent example of quality and beauty. This top is the best of all edge grained island tops. It features full length laminations, a 3" inch ogee edge and is completely custom. Any shape you can imagine we will try to complete. The only significant restriction is the overall size. We are limited to 58 inches on the width and 108 inches on the length. This furniture quality top also features our Durakryl 102 finish. This gives you durability, ease of maintenance and beauty.
The top is available in Maple, Lyptus, Ash, Black Cherry and Black Walnut.

3 Inch Thick Lyptus Ogee Edged Island Top
This island top caught our eye as it made its way through the plant. The unique 6 sided design will make for an interesting center piece in the end users kitchen. The top features the exclusive 3" Ogee edge and proves that just about any shape can be manufactured. The top also has the sink cut out factory cut and finished making for an easy installation.

Island Encounters
Another fabulous choice for an Island top is the 4 Inch "Double Dovetailed" Island Encounters top. This top comes is several popular standard sizes. It features end grain construction, the exclusive double dovetail and a 4" thickness of Solid Northern Hard Maple. There is no better cutting surface than end grain construction. Most of the worlds tops chefs insist on cutting on this surface. The combination of strength and beauty is the perfect combination for the professional or amateur chef alike.

End Grain Maple Butcher Block Island
The Maple End Grain Island is perhaps the most traditional butcher block next to the Monarch Meat Block. These tops have always been popular with amateur gourmets. End Grain construction not only looks fantastic it is also the worlds best cutting surface. These tops are usually oiled with food grade mineral oil but can be finished with Durakryl 102 for a more permanent finish. The Wood Welded companies offer End Grain maple is a variety of sizes ranging from 3" to 6" thick. Most often the blocks are constructed 3 ½" thick. There are no standard sizes. We make blocks from cutting board size all the way up to 96" long by 48" inches wide. The tops look nice finished off with a 3/8" top edge radius.

3" Lyptus End Grain Butcher Block
One of the most exciting new products being introduced at the Wood Welded Companies is End Grain Lyptus Butcher Block. The striking grain structure provided by these tops is unsuprassed.
