Of course the most traditional species used in the manufacture of butcher block is Northern Hard Maple but Red Oak, Lyptus and White Ash also make fabulous butcher block tops. The environment is an important consideration for Michigan Maple Block Co. and Bally Block Co. Wood, being our business makes us acutely aware of issues regarding forestry and the health of the planet in general. Our decision to produce Wood Welded Butcher Block from Lyptus was heavily influenced by these factors. Lyptus is considered a "Green" product.
